Epic Games Store, Yeniliklerle Dolu Bir Yıla Hazırlanıyor

Epic Games Store, seven years into its launch, continues to grow. Initially released as a competitor to Steam exclusively for the PC platform, the store expanded its reach over time by also coming to iOS and Android. Today, Epic Games shared data for the year 2025 in its new “Year in Review” report while detailing the innovations planned for 2026.
A major infrastructure update is coming to the Epic Games Store, with the company focusing on long-requested features and deeper platform improvements for the launcher this year. An architectural update planned to be implemented in the summer aims to provide a smoother store experience for PC users. According to Epic Games, this update will bring faster loading times, increased stability, and a significant improvement in the overall user experience. The company emphasizes that the store interface will be more responsive and seamless.

Another innovation developed for the Epic Games Store is community areas. Along with personalization options like avatars and user profiles, this system will allow gamers to communicate across platforms. Initially, only text chat support will be provided. However, Epic plans to integrate voice chat and group (party) systems into this social structure in the future.

Another surprise announcement from Epic is the cross-platform library system planned to be launched in the fall of 2026, which will cover PC and mobile Epic Games Store users. While details are not yet finalized, it is said that this system could enable a structure similar to Xbox Play Anywhere between PC and mobile platforms.

Among other upcoming features is a cross-promotion system that will offer themed Fortnite cosmetics with game purchases on the Epic Games Store. This approach is reminiscent of the promotion methods familiar to Steam users from the Team Fortress 2 era. Additionally, a new library management system is being developed for the Epic Games Store mobile app.

Epic Games also shared some notable statistics for the year 2025. Users spent a total of $400 million on third-party games, marking a 57% annual increase. The total gameplay time for third-party games reached 2.78 billion hours, showing a 4% increase. Total spending by PC gamers on the Epic Games Store was announced as $1.16 billion, indicating a 6% rise. Despite a 14% decrease in total gameplay time compared to the previous year, Epic notes that third-party games were played 4% more this year.
